Miyazakigyu is the top brand of Japanese Wagyu known for its quality and consistency. Produced from Japanese Black cattle, and raised in Miyazaki prefecture, Miyazakigyu has become known for its snowflake-like marbling. In order to qualify as Miyazakigyu, cattle must be born and raised in Miyazaki Prefecture and graded A4 and above. Miyazakigyu has won the “Wagyu Olympics” in 2007 and 2012 which is the first time in the history of the tournament that a brand has been able to win consecutive awards.  They have also won the Prime Minister’s Award for excellence for the third consecutive time, which is also the first time in the history of the tournament that a brand has won 3 consecutive awards. Asia International, Inc. was recognized as the first authorized distributor of Miyazakigyu in the United States.

Asia International, Inc. was founded in 2007 by Hitoshi Nishikawa with the goal of providing high quality ingredients in the San Francisco Bay Area to discerning restaurants and markets.  What started as a small family distribution company has since grown to multiple locations throughout California servicing accounts nationwide. After working with both international and domestic suppliers, Asia International has built a reputation of sourcing and providing consistent, high-quality meats to their customers.  Focusing on niche programs with humane and sustainable husbandry practices, the company has been able to expand its offerings to include imported Japanese Wagyu, domestic American Wagyu, Kurobuta Pork, and premium Angus beef programs. From family shops to Michelin Starred Restaurants, Asia International has the ability to service restaurants of all needs and sizes.  After 10 years, we are now ready to offer direct to consumers nationwide.

About Our Founder

Hitoshi Nishikawa was born and raised in Japan, and moved to the United States to study in 1970. He graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Animal Science and now holds over 40 years of experience in the food industry. 

After spending many years working for various import and export companies specializing in fine foods, Mr. Nishikawa decided to start his own distribution business, Asia International, Inc. in 2007. In an effort to develop and procure new products for his clients as well as cope with rapidly changing markets, Mr. Nishikawa travels regularly throughout North America as well as Asia.  

Following his footsteps, his sons are actively expanding the operations and presence of MiyazakiGyu nationwide.
